Products & Services Overview

CPI Aero provides aerospace assemblies such as skin panels, leading edges, flight control surfaces, engine components, wing tips, cowl doors, nacelle assemblies and inlet assemblies to the U.S. government and leading Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 manufacturers.

The following value-added services are incorporated into the delivery of components and assemblies to the company’s customers:

  • Program Management and Integration — For each contract awarded to CPI Aero, the company forms an Integrated Program Team made up of employees from each department. These teams monitor the progression of each contract from bidding to final delivery, receiving direction from a Program Manager assigned to each contract.
  • Final Assembly and Kitting — Skilled aircraft mechanics perform assembly and fabrication on components utilizing lean manufacturing processes. Progress is monitored by the Production Control Department and metrics are posted on Manufacturing Status Boards.
  • Manufacturing Engineering — Upon receipt of a contract award, the Manufacturing Engineering Team analyzes the customer provided technical data and specifications for each item required for contract completion. Manufacturing plans are created and distributed to CPI Aero’s subcontractors for the manufacture of detail parts and assembly instructions are prepared for use by CPI Aero’s production personnel.
  • Tool Design and Fabrication — Detail design drawings are provided to third-party tool manufacturers for unique tools required in production. CPI Aero inspects every tool to ensure that all specifications will be met.
  • Subcontract and Logistics Management — The Procurement Dept. uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to analyze costing information and ratings from qualified suppliers, enabling the Program Manager to make supplier selections. This software is also used to manage purchase and production schedules vital to contract performance. Throughout the procurement process, the company utilizes a network of in-house and external supply chain management personnel to visit supplier locations to monitor progress and to assess timing and quality of component delivery.
  • Testing and Inspection — Components are inspected upon delivery from suppliers and after final assembly to ensure that all necessary aerospace and military quality requirements are met.
